How many snow days does your system get? How many have you used?

Since none of these have been major snow events, will you need makeup days if you are over?
I'm always curious how the various systems do this.

Fairfax County builds in three extra days. Then they start taking away planned days off. Then they add to the end of the school year.

We are in our 5th day off. So we will have school on President's Day Monday and it iwill be a full day for the ES. We will aslo have school on April 8th, which was the teacher's end of 3rd quarter workday.

The 6th day, if we have it will not be made up.

In our district, they build in 5 days so this is our 5th day. After this, they will most likely just add days on at the end. I find it interesting that the PP said that FFX County takes away the originally scheduled teacher workday. I wonder how the union feels about that?

Virginia is a right to work state so the unions don't have any say.

As a FCPS teacher, I think it stinks. We have two teacher workdays next week - I would much rather lose one of those days and keep the spring workday. But it's too late to do that I guess.

MCPS has four built in days and today is #4. Any more and they supposedly add on days to the end of the school year. However - I've been teaching in this county for 15 years and not once have they added on days. MCPS always gets a "waiver" from the MD BOE. Of course, now that I've said that and jinxed it... they probably will add on!
