Dress-up clothes for boys?

Anonymous
I'm curious as to what age boys get into playing "dress-up"? I feel like my 2 year old is a little young yet, but maybe I should be putting some stuff away for later? Also wondering how many boys just don't ever get into it?

my son liked them from i guess around 2.

it depends on the dress up.

DS (3) loves to be animals (Dog ears, lion tail). He likes his cape.. and wants to be a knight. King crowns, dragon capes...

He's not interested in masks or elaborate costumes.

My six year old is into it. He mainly dresses up with Halloween costumes. Ninja, transformer, super Heros, etc

When my son was 3 he wore an orange NASA spacesuit to preschool pretty much every day for 3 months.

My youngest started being interested prior to two (his alter ego was a cow, and he wore it around constantly) but his older brother more so at 3-4. The dress up clothes aren't pulled out often, but they have fun with them when they are. Hats (fireman, construction man, etc) and super hero stuff gets the most wear but the younger one especially also likes animal costumes.

My best friend has a four year old and a two year old. They frequently play dress up - super heroes and knights.

My son is six and he has never really been into dressing up. He doesn't care about super heroes either. it seems like those two things go hand in hand. For boys much of the time. He does like imaginative play quite a bit though. He always wants to act out stories after reading. Stuff like that. There are sometimes props but never costumes.

My son has loved dressing up since around 2 years old. He is not picky about boy vs. girl type costumes.

My 4.5 year old DS never really got into it. My 3 year old asks to wear a costume everyday as soon as we get home from daycare. His faves are superheroes but will also put on his animal costumes, fire fighter, doctor, princess dress, etc...
