Small victories

Anonymous
Our New Years resolution was to tighten up the finances a bit. We're doing ok, but had noticed a little bit of spending creep and thought it was time for a review of everything.

Today we got a Verizon bundle deal (Fios) and will be saving $45/month on cable. Every little bit helps, right?? Anyway, just wanted to share our first tiny victory. We just got a small income bump and the savings bump wasn't as much as we wanted.

Next up: a review of eating out at work! Anyone else have small victories to share??

That's awesome, OP! DH and I have been thinking about making the switch. No small victories lately but a few months ago I reduced my cell phone bill by $30/month.

That's great. We've had to tighten up on dinners out. It's hard, I feel like we were addicted.

Cancelled my cell phone plan and went with T-mobile's pay as you go. It's $2/day for unlimited voice, text, and internet. Some days I use nothing and save the $2/day. Cut my bill by around $50/month.

If you are on T-Mobile, I'm assuming you have an unlocked, GSM phone. If so, look at Lycamobile. They charge 2c/4c/6c for voice (1min)/text(each)/data (1MB). Only condition is you use them once in 3-4 months. You can add $ 10 and take 2 years to use if it need be.
