How much have you spent and what is your HHI?

We're at $60,000 K and I'm having major issues deciding to spend more. We could probably do it but it's not a smart decision; I grew up poor and can't believe we've already spent that much. I hate the whole "Well, how much is a baby worth to you?" discussion because it puts a price tag on the kid. Ugh. Just wondering where we are in comparison to others.

I feel like I could've written your post. I refuse to purchase anything from Kohl's without a 20 or 30% off coupon, but for my uterus it seems the sky is the limit! We started out with MFI and took the route of disbelief doing 5 IUIs, because we didn't have IF coverage and couldn't fathom putting out so much money for IVF.

HA!!! When we hit $60K after a few IVF cycles--including 1 loss of twins--we moved to DE which increased our odds of a take-home baby and allowed us entrance into a guarantee program. (Had we moved straight to IVF and not fooled around with IUIs, we could've qualified for OE IVF a lot sooner--hindsight!) No regrets--currently pregnant.

HHI about $230K.

This is OP. Ha Ha! Kohls only send me 30% off coupons because we don't shop with anything less

We spent $20k for IVF shared risk. Not sure what we would have done without shared risk and I feel for those who don't qualify. HHI about $300k.

HHI is about 210K and although we did not need ART we spent ~28K to get through first trimester for two pregnancies.

We spent probably 40-50k (I didn't want to know the exact numbers). HHI roughly 275k.

In our 20s with HHI of 175k. Waiting til I'm 30 for ART bc will bc mostly free at that point (ins requires TTC 5 yrs before covering).

We spent right at $20K with HHI of $150.

we spent about $45k for DS with HHI of about $125k. Just spent another $10k trying for #2. HHI of about $175k now.

sorry, but what on earth is HHI? First time i've seen that acronym.

We spent that much trying to adopt, maybe more. For one child, it is priceless. For two kids, forget it. My child is the joy of my life and I am so grateful but I would not spend that kind of money to try for another child. I have no regrets and would do it again for him.

Just curious how the Ins company requires that you prove this before providing coverage?

We had 50% insurance coverage. Spent around $2,500 for one IVF that gave us two babies. HHI is 130K. Not sure what we would have done without the coverage, because spending anywhere near 60K was out of the question for us.

HHI of $180 K. IVF for DD1 was covered by insurance. We used up remaining insurance coverage for FET trying for #2. Got into Shared Risk at Shady Grove and spent $22k plus about $7K in meds. Had twins after second round of IVF.
