Expectant and Postpartum Moms
|
Are there any expectant mom groups in NW DC- I'm in Glover Park? Anyone belong to one or know how I can go about finding one? I'm 22 weeks along and a teacher, so ideally I'd like to find one that meets on the weekends or later in the day.
Thanks! |
| I am 23 weeks and live in the Palisades and would also like to meet up with other pregnant moms. If you want to get together, you can email me at tdoves@gmail.com |

My name is Karen Miller and I am a licensed Social Worker. I am planning to start a pregnancy support group in Silver Spring beginning at the end of January or beginning of February. It will be located in Silver Spring on a weeknight evening from 7:30-9 pm. I am still finalizing the day and location. It will be for approximately 10 women who would like to come together to discuss the highs and lows of pregnancy, prepare emotionally for motherhood, and talk about the changes in relationships with husbands, family, etc. All participants will be encouraged to exchange contact information so that the connections made during preganancy will give support systems for those first months of parenthood! If you might be interested, please contact me at karenseelig@yahoo.com

Hi neighbor,
I'm trying to set up a expecting/new parent meet-up on Friday eve, 1/30 or Sunday, 2/1 around brunch (prob 2/1 given responses so far) for parents in the Glover Park/Gtown area. If you're interested, shoot me an email at danamiller1 at yahoo dot com and I'll keep you up to date. There are lots of us in the neighborhood! Dana (1st son expected March '09) |

If you're also looking for a post-pregnancy support group, you might want to look at Parent And Community Education (PACE). A friend recommended it very, very highly and said it helped her get through the whirlwind first couple of weeks. She's still friends will people she met in the group. You do have to pay a couple hundred dollar fee, though ....

| $250 seems steep for the PACE group. Is anyone a member -- is the fee worth it? |
