We moved from NYC where the Chinese food was so good (and so cheap!)
I've yet to find anything comparable nearby. Any recs? Or is it a lost cause in my neighborhood? |
| Have you tried Meiwah? |
| Anyone else? I want to know too! |
|
Meiwah sucks. I wouldn't eat there unless I was starving and happened to walk by.
Need to go out to Rockville. Try A&Js. YUM. |
A&J's is terrible! A bit too authentic if you ask me. Meiwah is great. |
| Meiwah is completely blah. I much prefer A&J. |
| For real Chinese, A&J in Rockville. For Bethesda, try Foong Lin if you want a restaurant. For carryout, I like the place near the Westbard Giant. |
OMG....No offense, but if you prefer Meiwah to A&Js then you are definitely not looking for the "best Chinese." Real chinese food does not look like what is at Meiwah. No, you will not find "General Tso's Chicken" or "Orange Chicken" at A&Js. But then again, you probably wouldn't find it in China either. |
| I have always been such a huge fan of Chinese food- and ever since we moved to DC (nearly 10 years ago), I have never found a place that compared to anything I had eaten previously. I recently asked on this forum for recommendations in Silver Spring, and all of the places people raved about were places I had tried and didn't love. We lived near Meihwah in the District, and for me it was just OK. I even tried dining in there, thinking it would taste better fresh from the kitchen. Nope. Still blah. |
| Must go to Rockville: A&Js, Joe's Noodle House, Jin River. |
| Shanghai Village in Bethesda. We ways have lived their carry out. |
Are you talking about the place next to Starbucks or the one in the Wholefoods shopping center across the street? |
The one in the same shopping center of the Giant is really gross! |
| Try Full Key in Wheaton |
| Far East in Rockville. A family favorite of ours. |
