Confused about baby cold meds

Anonymous
I recall hearing that babies (mine is 1.5 yo) shouldn't take cold medicine. When I went to the drugstore today to get more motrin, I saw that they have a cold version which contains ibuprofin and pseudoephedrine. It says it's for ages 2 and up, same as the one I give which contains ibuprofin only. Does anyone know if my less-than-2yo shouldn't take pseudoephedrine? That stuff is a miracle for stuffy noses. Was it a different ingredient which was recently deemed inappropriate for kids under 6?

Thanks!

My ped. says no cold meds. under 4. Besides being potentially dangerous, studies have shown they don't help little kids.

Don't bother with them, they do not work. Saline solution, standing in the bathroom for steam while running the shower....it is rough.
