Suggest a neighborhood of quality small houses, but larger (>6000sq. ft.) yard?

We don't need a ton of space, although a basement/shop space would be nice, but we would like a roomy (for the city/suburbs) yard... hopefully larger than 6000 sq feet. (for the YARD, not the house!  ) We are having difficulty finding a good, smaller house, much less one with a nice yard. We're very open to location--- VA, MD, DC... but need to keep price under (please stifle your guffaws!) $650,000. About location, Olney is too far, Ashburn is too far, etc., but anything inside that, we're game. Any suggestions? Any zip codes of nice smaller houses that we're overlooking? Thanks in advance!!

| 6000 sq ft yard may be found out in Burke or fairfax station. Would probably need a lot of remodeling though under 650 because, although they exist, that sized lot would be highly sought after |

20912, yes, our Tak Pk yard is nearly 6000 sq ft, but not over 6000. It's not hard to find a house on a double lot in Takoma Park, either, if you keep your eyes open. |

+1 modest homes friendly neighborhoods most lots are 6000 sq ft, but there are definitely some larger lots too |

Big lots, older homes in 22308. If you find a keeper, snatch it up. Most smaller homes are being torn down and replaced with much larger homes. I love this area! Just beautiful and clean. |

0.137 acres is 6000 sf ,not that large
Pimmit Hills 22043 standard lots are .25 to .3 acres about 10000 to 11000 sf You can definitely pick up a decent size small home for 650. The location is near two metros and central to most areas. |
