My child came home today and said one of his teacher had left the school a week ago.
Yet nothing was reported to us. What is going on ??? Why is everything a big secret? |
|
Because super high teacher turnover is a fact of life in charters. You should get used to it. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/30/opinion/the-high-turnover-at-charter-schools.html?_r=0

| Another teacher? |
| Which teacher? |
| It's not their ONE teacher -- why are you so worked up? |
| Left because of a health issue, I believe. |
|
Teachers come and go. Kids need to adjust. Notifying you would have been nice but life goes on. |
| when it's a health issue, regardless of workplace, you are always in the dark |
|
If its a personal issue, you would not be in the know.
Also, when you have the 'go go go' charters- they burn people out. Get used to it. |
| Pre-existing health condition with complications, had nothing to do with "go go go" charters or burnout. |
| Interesting... Apparently BASIS parents have not been pushed into a vow of silence as another BASIS parent claimed on another thread. I hope this gets resolved and you get your answers. |
And I hope that teacher is ok. |
+1 |
Right. Charters do not burn out teachers at a fast rate. What was I thinking??? |
No, this teacher did not have any health issues. It's a different one. |
