New Head at Harbor School?

| Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the new leadership at Harbor. I know some people had issues with the prior Head, and others had commented that they've just replaced the head. Any parents there who can comment on whether it's a positive change? I'm looking at it for both K and also preschool. Thanks. |

| The former head, Val Wise, was absolutely amazing. No word on a new head yet...really don't see anyone currently there taking the spot. She practically single-handedly turned Harbor in into a great school, so the bar for the new person is pretty high. |

| Incidentally, the school didn't replace her. She became the new Head of School at NCRC. |

| I am a current Harbor parent. Dr. Wise is amazing, and is a big factor that led to us sending our children to Harbor. She will be missed, but she has a great opportunity at NCRC. Search for a new head is ongoing, though I don't know any specifics. I expect they will announce someone by spring. There is a good deal of turnover among independent school heads recently. Norwood has a new head of school coming next year, among others. |
