if you are the 'finance/bills' person in your house (or if you do some part, along with your SO), what is your 'routine'/schedule? how do you organize yourself ? How much time do you allocate?

| About an hour every other week for bill paying, once w week for a quick check- about 20 minutes, once every six weeks for a thorough look at the budget- an hour. DH has absolutely no interest- never has. |

I am the sole financial person.
All of our regular bills except for daycare and cc bills are on auto debit. This includes transfers to savings and 529. So time spent monitoring all of the ins/outs: maybe a grand total of 30 mins/month. Time spent dealing with daycare and cc bills: 15 mins/month Probably once a quarter or so, I spend about an hour checking everything and updating what needs updating: retirement accounts, HOA fees, car insurance - stuff that's not paid monthly - etc. I probably should spend MORE time on a daily/weekly basis looking at the budget, but honestly we've idiot-proofed our finances to such an extent that there's not much to look at. |

Everything but daycare and my student loan are on automatic payments.
I usually spend about 5 minutes a day to make sure there are no strange charges on our credit card or from our bank account. Otherwise, it takes me 10 minutes once a month to write the daycare check and do a one time debit to my student loan company. |
