Where are you going?
I have been not so impressed a few times I've taken advantage of restaurant week, so I'm debating whether it's worth it... |
|
I haven't gone on years. The service is generally crappy and the menus are too limited.
Is anyplace offering the full menu? |
| We had a really nice meal at 1789 last winter for RW. Jaleo has offered the whole menu in the past, although when I was there in August (Crystal City) it was a limited menu. Still good though! |
| I avoid RW at all costs. It is crowded, the employees at the restaurants hate it, and often it is actually more expensive than going there on any other night when I wouldn't order all the courses. |
| I went to SAX last year (1st time I had been), and thought the food, show, service was superb! I've since been back twice. I use RW to try different places here in the city that I would not normally go. |
| I always avoid it...think it's a rip-off |

DC restaurant week is pretty disappointing. A lot of nice options don't participate, the menus are too boring, and its not much of a deal.
That being said, the "rip off" places tend to be either places that are moderately priced to begin with or serve small plates. If you stick to only higher end restaurants that serve more traditional three course meals, I think you can make out ok. Its not exactly half off, but it usually at least works out to a "your dessert is on us" kind of deal. Looking at the list this year, here's where I think you might be able to get a decent value on a good meal: 2941 Acadiana Al Dente Bistro Bis BlackSalt Brasserie Beck Equinox Kaz Sushi Mintwood Place Rasika West End The Source Vidalia Zentan |
| don't they have this like every quarter???? so stupid. |
