Where to get a great facial in DC or MoCo?

Does anyone have a recommendation? I'm looking for someone who will really get my pores clean. I used to go to a woman who called herself "mean Christine" -- it was agony, but boy did my skin look great!

Violet at Serenity Day Spa will do the trick... you'll be in pain, but she'll apologize in a comforting tone. She does use a fish oil that I don't appreciate. It's pleasantly scented at first, but starts to reek after a few hours. The smell really doesn't wash off until the next day. Anyway, the pores looked great.

This is Serenity in Tenleytown, BTW.

Allie at Kibana in Silver Spring. WONDERFUL! And doesn't try to up-sell, or sell you anything for that matter.

I had a facial by her a couple of weeks ago. It was lovely, except that my skin totally broke out, and it is just now clearing up.

09:55 here: She's caused me extreme pain, but the result is worth it. I don't break out, but I do find her more aggressive with extractions than anyone else. It's almost ok, though, because, in the most soothing, lilting Persian-accented tone imaginable, she says, "I realize that I am hurting you, and I apologize for this."

OP here: break out, like, a rash, or like acne? Sometimes when they really dig out your pores, the oil that is released can cause acne. But I've had rashes from facials because I have such sensitive skin.

No, like acne. And I didn't feel like she was being overly aggressive. Maybe it was the products. I know she wasn't using the Sonya Dakar line, I can't remember what she was using.

I have been going to Sonali for the last 3 years. She is extremely good, she was recommended to me by a friend and I have never gone anywhere else ever since. I have never had a breakout or a rash even after long sessions of pore cleanings. I would highly recommend her to someone looking for a great aesthetician.
She can reached at sonali_sahni@hotmail.com.

I HIGHLY recommond Simin at Bodysmith in Glover Park (2200 Wisconsin Avenue). 202-333-7703. I have turned my skin (and eyebrows) over to her completely and have been VERY pleased. I've had acne prone skin all my life and have been so down an out by realizing that even in my 30's acne is something that I still have to deal with. Simin has created a customized regimen for me and she does NOT push products off on me which I appreciate. She has so much experience, including abroad, and she herself has amazing luminous skin. She creates a very soothing atmosphere and I really feel great when I leave there.
