Stone Ridge/ Visitation

Curious to know more about Stone Ridge and Visitation.
What schools feed into Visitation? I have searched the board, and read Catholic k-8 schools, but am wondering which ones. Do many girls from Our Lady of Victory go there? As far as Stone Ridge is concerned, it looks like a lovely school and has the JK-12 benefit. I would love to hear from any parents involved with these schools.

stone ridge is a great school. i went there from 6th - 12th grade. you won't see much about it or other catholic schools on these boards. stone ridge was founded by an an order of nuns called rscj or religious of the sacred heart (coeur) of jesus. it is part of a network of schools across the us and the world. it has a rich history. it is a very progressive, very liberal catholic school. we were educated in catholic theology as well as educated to think deeply and question church doctrine. i received an excellent broad education there. my closest friends are those i made there. back before any school in this area talked about community service, stone ridge had already integrated community service into its curriculum. it was then called social action, and back in the late 70s, the entire high school spent tuesday afternoons working in the community. that inspired a deep sense of the importance of service to the world. the school also builds a tremendous sense of community from prek all the way through 12th grade. stone ridge just hired an alum for its new heard. we've heard she's fabulous.

I also attended Stone Ridge, but back in the dark ages of course
I always felt it was a school with a good, strong name that offers girls numerous opportunities to become independent, resourceful, well-educated women. There are tons of leadership opportunities, and because you can attend for your entire school career, you become a part of a family community. I love my ds, and wouldn't trade him for any dd on earth, but a tiny part of me always thought I'd have a daughter to send there too. I would have in a heartbeat. It's kind of a a 'quiet' private school, but no doubt just as competitive as Holton, Visitation, Connelly... Oh, and how beautiful they've made the campus, and how MUCH MORE DIVERSE it's become since those dark ages!

Former Visitation teacher here. I would say that pretty much all the local Catholic schools feed into Visitation--we had girls from Holy Trinity, Blessed Sacrament, St. Ann's, Annunciation, Our Lady of Victory, St. Elizabeth's in Rockville, etc., etc. HTH.
