Baby wakes herself up screaming - sounds like she's having a nightmare

Hi, every once in a while (2-3/week) my 2 month old wakes up screaming (not just crying). It sounds as though she is having a nightmare but (1) I'm not sure babies can have nightmares and (2) sometimes it happens only a few minutes after she's fallen asleep so she hasn't had enough time to have a nightmare.
Curious if other people have experienced this and whether they ever figured out what it was. I suspect it might be reflux....gastric juices coming up into her throat and giving her a burning sensation.
I have spoken to the pediatrician but she didn't have any hypotheses. She did suggest I could add rice cereal to the last feeding to prevent milk from coming back up.

Could also be gas?

Check for acid reflux. Sometimes acid shoots up from the tummy into their throat and that can cause it.
