My one-month old baby isn't super into his swing, bouncy seat, or play mat yet. In fact, sometimes they seem to bother him -- he'll start crying. Perhaps he's overstimulated?
When did your babies start enjoying these toys? |
| Mine? Not until 3 or 4 months old. |
| Mine never liked the swing, bouncy and play mat. She started tolerating them around 4 months but for the most part, preferred to be held and bounced or sitting in the bumbo. |
| Also, around 3 months. DS did not like his bouncy seat until around 4.5 months. Now he will tolerate it for 20 min max. |

Usually when their vision improves.
Then, for sure, when they are coordinated enough and can grip/bat/feel things. Definitely by the time they figure out cause & effect. Be patient. |

It was probably a good three months before DD intentionally reached for a toy. She started with the toys above her on the playmat (grew to LOVE it!) and then to toys we clipped on to the seatbelt in her swing.
At only a month, I agree you need to watch that he's not overstimulated. The only "toys" he needs at this stage are his parents' faces. Endless stimulation and entertainment! So I'd just dial things back a bit and see how it goes. Have fun!!
