Can you use a rice cooker for lentils?

Going to try them for my 8 month old. I have two settings, rice and porridge ((Sanyo cooker). Has anyone successfully used a rice cooker for lentils? Thanks!

I tried this last week but my lentils turned out mushy. Very disappointing.
