Favorite Picture Book for 5-8 year olds

What is you and/or your child's favorite picture book for 5-8 year olds? I know it's hard to pick just one, but I'm trying to come up with a few to buy my kids for the holidays. I'm hoping to hear about something I don't already know about. We love great illustrations and a good story (humor is good). Nothing to simple, rhyming/sing-songy.

My DD loves "Falling For Rapunzel" -- a cute parody on the original. Very funny. Good pics.

my 5 year old loves the Scaredy Squirrel books-they are hilarious. As is the Stinky CHeese Man-parody on fairy tales-all of this guy's books are great.
