pedialyte -how long is it safe to go

DS is 7-months and has a horrible stomach virus which includes vomiting and diarrhea. Pediatrician recommended he go on pedialyte to prevent dehydration. DS is refusing bottle with mild and pedialyte. How long is it safe to go with using pedialyte and getting no milk??

I fed my son pedialyte through a syringe once, when he was sick like that. It was awful, but it kept him hydrated. Dehydration is bad bad bad for infants. Make sure he's wetting his diaper regularly, and keep feeding the Pedialyte. It's safer for him than water right now, and I'm sure the virus will resolve in a day or too. Good luck.
