Can anyone reccommend pediatric psychologist for anxiety?

Prefer Montgomery County. Seeking very experienced psychologist who may specialize in anxiety disorders in very young (preschool) to work with daughter on situational anxiety and probable ADD. Someone w/extensive experience working with special needs population a plus. Thanks.

I can recommend someone for you depending on what you are looking for. If you are looking for consultation on medication for children with autism who suffer from anxiety and/or ADD, both of which my sone has, the your are looking for a child psychiatrist and not a pshychologist. I psychologist would do therapy, but does not medicate. If medication is what you are seeking, I would recommend Dr. Maria Campagnone, she is a child physchiatrist in Rockvile and specialized in kids on the spectrum. One caution is she does not accept insurance -- you have to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Good luck.

Mary Alvord and Associates in Rockville and Silver Spring; they're all good, but the best is Dr. Bonnie Zucker, who just published a book on anxiety in kids.
