| Does anyone know of a similar list serve in Chicago? My SIL is pregnant and among the first of her friends and could use a board like this. Thanks. |

| Neighborhood Parents Network (formerly Northside Parents Network): npnparents.org. It's not quite the same as DCUM b/c it's a membership organization w/ annual dues (like $30), but it has neighborhood meet ups and school fairs and a monthly periodical. It has robust forum discussions with lots of kid/family/events/schools/neighborhoods/finding a nanny/general parenting/etc discussions and information. At least not too long ago, postings were not completely anonymous like here, but each member had a membership number so one was only identified by a number, and that still allowed for enough anonymity to get valuable information but everyone was so much more civil and friendly. |
