My husband and I are thinking about a sunny locale, sans kids for January. Open to options, but looking for some advice on a somewhat reasonable but no need to be cheap place to look at, hotel ideas welcome too! Thanks!

Just make sure you don't tell anyone about your vacation when you return......they'll think you are an obnoxious, braggart. (I am referring to the heated thread from a week or so ago about people who talk about their trips!). Caneel Bay sounds nice.......

A Caribbean cruise - most of the lines have great deals right now.

Puerto Rico is nice and relatively close--warm, and enough to do if you aren't totally a beach person.

Anywhere in southern South America. It's high season down there. Punta Del Este, Uruguay is fabulous in January - miles and miles and miles of beaches. Quite the night scene too.

Long flights, so only worth it if you're going for a week or so.
