Omg I’m so sad I am late to the thread today, now I have 30 pages to read!! But unlike Hilaria I’m actually working today plus looking after kids so it will have to wait until tonight. Can anyone post the coles notes of today?? I saw the NY post just did an article about Alec calling out an immigrant who wrote a piece for people. Kids nap time and my work lunch break are almost over, so I don’t have time (or 5 nannies) to read through everything. Help?! Thank you!!

I am a native speaker and she has a good accent. I have only heard her say short simple sentences but with those I bought that she was spanish. She's probably not fluent to speak anything more complicated but she's good with the accent.

Most americans who learn spanish in USA have a latin accent, her accent is castellano though. They are quite different.

She uses repetitive phrases and filler words with a good Spanish accent and nonverbal movements, and clearly understands Spanish, but if you watch this whole 3 minute video, she has to think before she speaks and makes several errors.

Classic con artist grifter with pseudo surface-level knowledge that fools and tricks naive gullible people, but once someone with a clue talks to them they try to wiggle away or divert your attention to something else. Woody Allen has entire films about people like this - Alec Baldwin starred in some of them!

Italian was my second language growing up. I'm still close to fluent.

What you see in this vid is how I speak Italian. I can have conversations with no problem but my answers tend to be shorter and at times I need to pause and think about the way I want to answer something if it's more complicated. My guess is Spanish was her second language and she completely embellished the accent for this persona she created publicly. I also think she played up the accent with Baldwin himself as he uses said accent in previous interviews to imitate her.

To put it bluntly, she's a phony with a personality disorder. (And someone who desperately craves online attention, hence all the photos in her undies working out, with the kids, etc.) She never had the accent to begin with. She always knew how to say 'cucumber'.

Alec of course is only making things worse by his defense of all this. She's guilty as sin. And he's trying to play the victim card for her. What a joke he can be at times. (Brilliant actor though!)

I grew up in Montreal, in a French world with French friends and have spoken French for 40 years. I speak French at my day job and am currently a French tutor. My parents are from Manitoba and we only spoke English at home. My parents don’t even know how to speak French beyond the basics. English is my first language, I’ve never had an accent and I’ve never forgotten how to speak English!! This lady is a complete clown. If you know anything about French Canadian, that’s a really strongggg accent and somehow I managed to live in a French world and not have one because that is not my native language.

The only thing I will say is that I do mix up Italian and Spanish, because I speak both and often get confused. I’ll think I’m speaking Italian but everything comes out Spanish. Or sometimes I will watch a movie and the character is speaking Italian but my brain for a second registers it as Spanish. BUT that’s because I speak 5 languages and things get confusing!! There is no confusion with Spanish and English, but Italian/Portuguese/Spanish I could understand.

Many years ago, I think when there were only two kids, she was supposed to go to Spain for Christmas. I don't remember...) were sick with colds. She did lots of instagram stories about being disappointed and heartbroken and blah blah.

I already knew she was a fake back then because I practiced yoga in NY and knew her as Hilary Thomas. I remember being amused and finding it fitting that she never rescheduled the trip. There was no reason they couldn't just go a week later; the kids were young and not in school and they were plenty rich enough to just rebook plane tickets and so forth. Her parents didn't have inflexible work schedules that meant they could only see them during the holidays but not Jan 10th or whatever. But instead, they just never went at all.

Her parents' social media were public until recently (I haven't looked since all this blew up). There are pictures of them visiting the grandkids in NY. Hilaria has just always conveniently hid that they were in town on her instagram life.

Well, I disagree. Our society has a major problem with facts, and inauthenticity. This is a problem, with major consequences. I don't think people, including celebs, should be able to just make up stuff. Change your name? Fine. People do that for all kinds of reasons.
