My guess is no change to top 5. Next weekend could move things

A few losses from local teams quiets people down. And every one is afraid to talk about what showcases they are at because they don’t want to tip anyone else off

Pride enjoyed their run in the top 10. Back to reality now

Pride likely stays where they are at #9. They might even move one spot HIGHER thanks to Philly Blast Brave having a very tough weekend.

Why wouldn’t YJ leapfrog HG and Coppermine after beating both last weekend?

I would venture YJ won't jump above HG because it wasn't a full game and at LLL HG beat YJ soundly.

Doubtful, they lost to monster and prime time. Teams ranked lower than them. They will drop out of of top ten.

Wins and losses don't matter to the rankings. What matters is how a team performs against their opponents relative to expectations. For example, losing can actually increase a team's ranking if they lose by less than they were expected to. The rankings take into account all of the fall and spring games, so it is hard to move the needle too much at this point with ~30 games in the data for some teams. YJ Maget is an interesting one, though. They only had 13 games in the books heading into the weekend, and then proceeded to outperform against everyone, including some very lopsided wins. I think there is a strong possibility YJ Maget is our new #1 when the new rankings come out later this week.

Wins and losses don't matter to the rankings. Pride did not perform badly enough relative to expectations to drop them out of the top 10. Hero's Green only beating Sky Walkers White by 5 did more damage to their ranking than the whole weekend did to Pride's. #8 or #9 is where Pride will be. It's just math.

Correction: I actually don't believe the short playoff games impact the ratings/ratings, so Hero's won't take a hit from the SW 5 goal win.

Still, I think YJ could be new #1 and Pride will be #8 or #9.

YJ will move up to at least 3, not sure if the math is enough to move over Hero’s and Eagles Stix yet. That’s just on paper but in real life YJ is 1 or 2 and going to be a tough out.

Same goes for Pride. They may not move out of the top 10 with the math on paper. However they are not a Too 10 team and this weekend showed that. They are more likely top 15-20.

Mass Elite is an example of why the numbers don’t always work out.

Prediction - Pride @ 11 or 12

Like it or not, there is only one set of ranking at this level and they are what they are.

At this point in the season, it would be difficult for that many teams to move ahead of them, especially since Philly Blast Brave pooped the bed and almost certainly falls out of the top 10. There’s a good chance MDU moves ahead of Pride, but that’s all I can come up with. Who age the teams do you think will move in to top 10 if Pride and PBB move out?

Agree with the folks explaining the math on the rankings.

That said, the math is all less important than the lessons learned this past weekend--especially about the mental toughness and game intensity required to hold leads against good teams. I would venture to guess that the players will remember what it feels like to lose a 6-0 lead much longer than whether they were #9 or #12 coming out of the weekend. And that's a good thing.

Following this logic expectations were high HG would blow grizzlies out of the water and they tied. Would imagine they will drop because of this.

Having a tie with CT Grizzlies when they were supposed to win by 5.6 hurt their rating. But then they proceeded to outperform the rest of the weekend against NXT, HHH and MDU. On a net basis, Hero's outperformed by 5.4 goals over the 4 games that will impact the ratings. Overall, Hero's rating will improve, but not nearly as much as YJ, who outperformed by 25.5 goals over their 4 games. As noted earlier, YJ only had 13 games on the books coming in to the weekend, so outperforming so dramatically in these new games is definitely going to shake things up.
