I have this intense (to put it mildly) desire to eat oysters. Last time I ate was during a brunch a couple of weeks ago at Sequoia in DC. It was open buffet and it was wonderful! It was the only thing really that stayed in my stomach, everything else I threw up (pregnant).
I would like to eat it again tonight or tomorrow, but would rather stay at home. On a side note, do restaurants even open for brunch tomorrow? Tia! |
| Fish markets can do it. The one in downtown Bethesda (A& H) prepares a reasonably priced platter. |
| I think there is an independent service that will do delivery from different restaurants. Does anyone know what it is called? |
| Sure, they keep just fine for a few days. Pretty much every restaurant should be open for brunch tomorrow, it's not a retail holiday. |
| You can get them shucked from WF but they say they should be consumed with in an hour. |

Black salt does take out oysters
For the person asking about restaurant delivery, did you mean grub hub? We used recently for delivery from Los cuatos and it was great / easy. |
| You can do takeout from Hank's. Or the Southwest fish market. |
| Seamless also does delivery from restaurants - but it would be best from a food safety perspective to pick them up yourself and eat them right away. Would you get takeout sushi delivered by someone other than a sushi restaurant? I'd want to know my raw seafood was kept chilled. |

OP,
I would definitely eat any seafood promptly. Not to be gross, but did you throw up the last time you ate oysters? If they were part of a brunch where you did throw up, they might have been the culprit. |
No, I only threw up the other foods... Anything I tried to eat (including dessert - donuts, cupcakes, ...) I had to run to the bathroom. Finally I ate the oysters and nothing happened. I just kept asking my husband to go get me some more, because even though I was throwing up, I was so hungry! Anyway, he just got me 20 at WF and I will eat it soon
Thanks!! |
| Are raw oysters safe when you're pregnant? |
| Maine Avenue Seafood Wharf. Walk up, buy, eat. |

You are not supposed to eat uncooked shellfish when you are pregnant. However, I leave that up to you.
Cameron's Seafood has several locations including Silver Spring. They sell oysters by the pound to go. |
