Unexplained Inf. Acupuncture Alexandria VA?

Hi all

I am a 33 yr old with unexplained Infertility. I am consulting Dr. Greenhouse at SG. I did 4 natural IUIs (without luck) as my periods/ovulation is regular. One monitored IUI also failed and onto the second one . At this point, I am very disheartened and do not know what to do! Thinking of doing acupuncture. Did anyone have any luck with acupuncture? Or any other herbs/ayurveda/yoga you may have tried? Any good acupuncturists recommendations around Alexandria Va or union station, Washington DC?

I appreciate all the input and any kind words of support.

God bless and Thanks!!

My dx was also unexplained and I too did acupuncture which I still do. I enjoy it but no I do not believe it helped make the difference for me. What I think did make the difference was doing an endometrial scratching/biopsy. Talk to your OBGYN about doing one as many REs will only do it in concert with an IVF cycle.

I liked Deb Early in Dupont Circle.

Although I do agree with PP that is I were to put my money on something, it would be the endo biopsy. (did both & just so hard to tell what value the acupuncture provides.)

Thank you all for the information. As I am also suffering from pelvic pain also called as Vaginismus, I would like to know if this procedure causes pain. Also how does this help unexplained infertility?

Unexplained infertility is often time simply undiagnosed infertility. OP, have you ruled out endometriosis?

An Endo biopsy/scratching is not too painful. Take two Motrin before the procedure and you'll be fine. Procedure takes 5 minutes. I had it done twice in one cycle and the second time I didn't even bother with the Motrin. And as a pp stated, unexplained is simply undiagnosed. It usually means your Dx is related to something that you haven't explored yet - eg. Endometriosis or lining just needs to be reset so to speak.
