Tell us about your secret shameful issues.

Tell us what is not perfect in your outwardly perfect academic lives.
Was the WPPSI score higher because you prepped?
Is DC at Sidwell, but hates it?
Are you in a panic about how to pay for it all, and have not told your spouse that you might need to pull out of private school?

Are you just bored and posting random shit questions in this forum? First the one about bragging about your kid and now this? Get a life please.

We were horrified to learn (after the fact, of course), that our 3 year old got so intense about the application process that she actually paid someone else to take the WPPSI in her place. I don't know why the tester didn't notice that when my DD went to the bathroom prior to test start she returned a full 2 feet taller, but she didn't. Obviously "she" scored very well. She was accepted at a Big 3 for PK. We were thrilled.

Little did we know her ENTIRE LIFE was a lie. She came home sobbing and revealed her elaborate deception to us prior to the parent teacher conference. She was terrified that her teacher would reveal that she was simply pretending to read War and Peace and couldn't relay any substantive information about the Rostov family when asked. We are now highly suspicious that she is not actually fluent in Mandarin as a result of her weekend coursework and is simply making up gibberish.

Our shame knows no bounds. Thank goodness for the purgative wonderland of this thread, OP. I feel much better now.

I wish you a VERY happy New year! Thank you.

I'm the Holton Booster. Yes, it's true. I come on here all the time to post slowball rhetorical questions to elicit enthusiastic responses. Like, "Why is Holton the best school in the entire universe?"

Also, I never miss an opportunity to pounce on NCS. Sometimes I repost negative things I've read on DCUM, or things that I've heard second-hand, because you know how hard it is to trash a school you don't belong to. Not that people on DCUM don't do trash unfamiliar schools all the time, but you know how it is! Anyway, when my well of inspiration has run dry, I just make up my NCS trash talk.

Rumors that I'm a social media hack paid to do this are false, absolutely false.

All my DD's clothes come from thrift stores. She is there on scholarship and we could NEVER afford it on our own. The first time she had a friend over the girl said, "You live HERE?!" and DD answered, "Oh, we don't like fancy things."

My DD is at Sidwell, and we secretly hate it. We're trying to transfer next year to Flint Hill, but we are afraid of asking the teachers for letters of recommendation. I guess worst case we'll have to put her in AAP. Oh the shame!!

Why? The original premise is stupid, if you take it sincerely. But so far the thread pales in comparison to the bad behavior on so many other threads.

When my kids were in private schools, sometimes I sewed things for the auction because we don't have a summer house to donate a week in, or depression-era glassware just lying around waiting to be donated, like so many others at the school.

I'm a public school parent now. Kids haven't been in private school for four years.
