How to find/hire a housekeeper?

We use a cleaning service and today one of the cleaners told me she would love to be a housekeeper for just one family, but she doesn't know how to find an employer. She's been working for the same service for many years. I didn't have any advice to give her and thought I'd ask here.

| Well, if I was the housekeeper, I would politely inquire of my current client as if I wanted my current client/potential employer's advice when what I really wanted to know was would she hire me away from the service I work for... |

| I hired our former housecleaner as or 25hr a week house cleaner. She now works for me 12-5 and cleans a few random houses some mornings. Basically word of mouth. |
