| Any suggestions for a good tennis camp for a 15 year old boy - local or sleep away? He's a strong player, super sweet boys, hasn't been to sleep away camp before so we would want it to be very friendly/welcoming w a lot of oversight & structure so he'd be busy and not homesick, if that makes sense. Thanks! |

Thanks for posting. We are also in the market for an excellent sleepaway tennis camp for a strong player (12-year-old girl). A well-regarded program on a college campus would be ideal.
Locally, Nike tennis camp at Georgetown was good last year. We will do that again but would also love to hear about other local options. |
| So not the answer you are looking for, but have you looked into your son being a bellboy for the local dc tennis tournament. ( formerly legg mason tennis classic)? My friends son did it and loved it. |
| Ballboy , not bellboy |

The University of Virginia (which has an extremely strong tennis program) has a popular sleep away camp in the summer (search for the University of Virginia Nike Tennis Camp).
If your kid is very strong, the USTA training center at College Park (www.jtcc.org) has big summer day camp program that offers world class instruction. I have also heard very nice things about the summer camp (run by 4 Star Tennis) at Bullis high school in Potomac, MD. |
| What about a tennis day camps? We did Sidwell but it was not very insyructional. |
