What would you do if your 2-year-old DD got this as a Christmas gift?

Gift came from DH's brother and apparently was purchased several months ago, so cannot be returned. This is the latest in a long line of similar gifts that, quite honestly, are not our style. Unfortunately, the gifts aren't cheap, BIL isn't rich, and I feel badly that he continues to spend the money on clothing that goes unworn. Would you say something or just leave it alone?

I think you have to leave it alone unless your DH (bil's brother?) is in a position to gently say something.

In the meantime, sell on eBay.

Eh, wear it to show patriotism. HD is as American as it gets. Harleys are made in the U.S.A.

Give it to Goodwill.

I would NEVER say a thing. I would put my kid in the outfit when/if we see BIL in person. I can't tell you how many times I've put ugly ugly ugly outfits on my kids that were gifts to show the giver we are thankful.

This. My boys have gotten things they'll wear once and then it's donated.

At two you don't say anything. I might say something years from now if it is "sexy" that your child shouldn't wear.

But, just not your style. Wear it around the relative or have her wear it once and snap a picture to send. She'll grow out of it quick enough.

That shirt is not ... awful. DD would like it, and would pair it with leggings and her knockoff Doc Martens. The top has the shape of a bowling shirt.

Would probably donate the pants.

I think the shirt is kinda cool. A little fun irony, 2 year old sporting a harley davis shirt. Pair it with a skirt or black leggins. Take a picture her with it on her bicycle.

I'm this poster. Guess it seems better than my mom buying my son Phat Farm, Ecko, and Rocawear, think she is getting it at the on the local Army base Aafes.

1438+ or put the kid in it for a picture to send to the giftgiver, then donate would not be my style either

Put it on. Take pictures to send to giver and put it away. I think it is kinda cute. Not my taste but there are far worse outfits.

Do this, and have her wear it once when your brother comes to visit.

Then, sell it on Ebay. I am sure you will get a decent bid for it.

But doesn't this potentially encourage more gifts of the same ilk?

I think it's cute. It's not offensive...if it was sexy stuff I'd say something. As it is. I'd just photo to say thanks & sell on eBay...unless DD really likes it!
