| My group of friends that consist of 8 friends and 10 kids 9 of them under 5 one is 13. We thought about getting together for the holiday and having a brunch style along with doing secret Santa amongst us girls. I think having it a someone house may be better but what type of place will accommodate this type of arrangement. |
| Where are you located? Mosaic in Rockville is great. Delicious food |
| Petworth area of DC. Friends live in Baltimore, Silver Spring Waldolf, Upper Marlboro just to name a few. Only one other friend lives in DC. |
| For that many kids, I'd do it at someone's home. Everyone bring a dish. The kids will be able to play, watch a movie, hang out while the adults talk. You can move around. At a restaurant, you'll be stuck in one seat. |
Mosiac is good, but I wouldn't do a group of 18 there. I don't think they have the space for that big a group. |
OP-- you know better than to try this at a restaurant. Do it at someone's home. That's the only way you'll have a somewhat pleasant time. |
| Agreed. Or find a place with a private room. 9 kids under 5? Puh- leeze. |
| Clyde's in Chinatown has a private dining space. |
|
The only way to make this work is to get a private dining space. Depending on your budget, that may or may not work for you & your friends - but it can basically end up being like someone's house; you can get a separate activity for the kids with some crafts and games, space to spread out, etc.
I wouldn't want to host that crowd at my house - so I get trying to find a place!! |
Agreed. A group this big with that many kids, should go to Chuck-e-cheese, maybe Chipotle - not a sit down brunch restaurant. You are much better off doing at someone's home. Or tip your waiter 30%, and get a private room. |
That's my point lol. Love my friends but since I thought of the idea, guess I need to make the arrangements. Maybe we can rotate year by year. |
