Eggspectation in Silver Spring. We love brunch there. It's usually my choice for my Father's Day brunch with my kids (among other times).

Cafe Mosaic in Rockville.

Original Pancake House Rockville or Bethesda

or Oriental East in SS (for traditional offerings of Chinese dim sum)

Founding farmers is overpriced, loud and food is not great. Not worth the money.

OP here. We went to 8407 kitchen bar in Silver Spring. It was fabulous, the service was great, the food was amazing. So glad we tried it!

Thanks for the Clyde's pr version. Ff is loud but I think we'll priced for what it is, and very good food overall.

Apparently Tom Sietsma doesn't think too much of it either. 1out of 4 stars. Perhaps you would like to recommend Cheesecake Factory as well.

I view a bad review by the post as a sign that it is a place I want to eat! Outside of his foodie friends, Tom never likes good, simple food. Give him small plates of duck confit from some dude who hiked the Himalayas for 7 years and he will give it 4 stars. For general purpose all around good food (and I would consider brunch a time for good food, good service, and good conversation, not necessarily the greatest of everything) founding farmers delivers.

Of course now that OP threw out 8407 all I want to do is go back there again!

Please try to expand your horizons a little. There are plenty of places he recommends that are basic restaurants besides duck confit. You actually might see what good food is really like.
