I'm hungry, but I don't want to eat anything...it's weird....

3 months pregnant. I am hungry throughout the day and so I cook a lot of healthy food...(I love cooking) but then, when the food is ready, I suddenly loose appetite. I feel like I've already ate all that food while cooking...it's weird. I haven't had morning sickness. Things I can eat right now are cereals with milk, chocolate, orange juice and banana. Not good, not enough.....Any suggestions?

This is soooooo normal. I experienced it all the time for the first half of my pregnancy. I would totally be "in the mood" for something and go through the trouble of shopping and cooking it or stopping to pick it up. Then, once all the effort was done, I didn't want to eat it at all, or just lost the taste for it when I took the first bite. I remember having this craving for scallops, went to Whole Foods and got these sinfully expensive scallops that were like $20/pound and made this gourmet recipe. Then, I tried one and just had NO DESIRE to eat it. Hubby and the kitty LOVED that night! Same thing happened for me on several other occasions... it was too funny. It would be as if I had these tremendous cravings that turned to aversions the second I got what I craved.

I'm at the end of my 13th week, and I'm EXACTLY the same. The only things I end up able to eat are cereal, citrus, chocolate milk, grilled cheese, and most fruit. I even want to go out to restaurants and when the food arrives, don't want it (so no more going out till this ends, it's a waste of money). I've actually been a little worried about this, so glad to hear others are the same!

I'm in week 19 and sicker now than I was early on. I want to eat but cannot bring myself to. I feel like I'll get sick.

I'm four months in to my second pregnancy, and can tell you that this was a totally normal experience for me. My husband calls it "the look" when I sit down to something I just cooked and can't eat it. I've had many a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats for dinner during both my first trimesters. Don't worry, it will fade!

I'm so glad you asked the question, and feel so much better after reading the responses - whew! I'm the exact same way. I go to Whole Foods with the best intentions, come home and prepare the meals and then "opt out." I might try having my husband cook...but, wait I think I've done that (that's another thing, I have no memory and always had a great one)?
