What are your Christmas dinner traditions?

Anonymous
Mine varies by the side of the family.

On my mom's side of the family, they do ham and/or turkey, depending on the size of the crowd, along with all the traditional sides - mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing, etc., etc.

My dad's side of the family, in New England, has a very simple dinner:

Prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, and creamed onions. That is it. I despited it as a kid, but now I really enjoy it -- but still beg to add mashed potatoes!

I think the passive-aggressive version of this is a tradition for many families during the holidays.

Roast with Yorkshire pudding, Christmas crackers and trifle. In-laws are Brits. I love the food traditions.

22:00 is referring to the Festivus Celebration of "airing of family grievances" around the table followed by the "feats of strength" after which when a male is pinned, Festivus is over.
