Any advice on where to take my pregnant sister who will be visiting from London over the holidays? She is on a mission to get a designer maternity wardrobe while she is home for the holidays because she isn't very keen on the selection in London. I didn't live in DC when I was pregnant and have no idea where to take her beyond A Pea in the Pod. In particular, she is looking for maternity business attire (she's a corporate VP) as well as designer maternity jeans. Help?! We're willing to travel anywhere in the metro area for the right options (and her wardrobe budget is shockingly large). Your feedback is really appreciated.

Did you post this on the Expecting Moms board here? I think you'll find the little trendy boutiques have the best selection. Online is probably another good resource. I remember Babystyle was nice, and I heard good things about Japanese Weekend (I think that was the name) too.
As for jeans, there is a lady on Ebay who customizes ANY maker's jeans into maternity. Search for whatever brand you like plus the word Maternity and you'll probably find her. Something like Time of My Life? |
Pea in the Pod
Nordstrom online only sells really cute stuff |
Apple Seed in Old Town and the Kentlands has a decent selection and designer jeans.
I had good luck with Neimans online - they have a maternity section and the DvF maternity clothes always worked well for me. |
Actually she can find awsome stuff form nordic designer "vida vita" in the UK. Try the lola line. |
She should also check out Isabella Oliver -- also a UK based fashion line. Very chic and it was pretty much all I wore while I was pregnant. They have everything for casual work to big corporate meetings to glam black tie. |
If you''re willing to travel, go to Annapolis. There is a fabulous store there called "Posh Belly" (poshbelly.com)
They really have cuter stuff than I've seen in DC. |
