Just had one last week. Served all finger foods: sweet and sour cocktail meatballs on toothpicks, assorted chips and thinly sliced cucumbers with hummus and spinach/artichoke dip, smoked salmon and cream cheese on toasted baguette slices, kettle corn, deviled eggs, cheese/meat plate with olives and nuts. Also had assorted cookies, wine, beer, and soda.

finger food is great. cheese board. fruit.

I'm not wild about dips when there are little kids, b/c they double dip. if you want to have snacks for young kids, having small cups for goldfish or pretzels is helpful.

Prepare 5 or 6 max offerings; otherwise its lots of dishes and more complicated. The above suggestions are great. Other ideas include little quiches, spicy nuts (or spicy/sweet), roasted vegetables with or without dip, flavored popcorn and of course tortillas, salsa and guacamole.

Suggestions are great so far, but maybe include some sweets like banana bread or mini cupcakes.
