I am not a big meat eater so I don't buy it often, but we're having guests for Christmas dinner and I want to make a beef tenderloin.
Was thinking about getting it at Costco but only need 2-3 lbs so they'll be too big, right? Where do you recommend buying a smaller one? I'm in SS near Kensington. Sniders? Whole Foods? |
| Sniders or ask butcher at giant to ut you one. |

You could try Sub Urban Trading Company -- they have fresh-from-the-farm meats sometimes (in addition to vegetables). Call in advance, though -- availability and selection is going to be spotty; you may have to special order. You could also try a farmer's market. I haven't been to the one in Kensington but imagine you'd find at least one good beef vendor. I know there are a couple of them at the Bethesda farmer's market (Mid-Pike Plaza on Saturdays, Bethesda Elementary on Sundays).
Or, if you just want it to be easy, with plenty of selection and availability, go to Whole Foods. |

Balducci's will have it as will WF.
I wouldn't buy from Suburban b/c that much beef will already be pricey and it will be additionally costly from them b/c they're a small shop. |
