Hi all,
I have been running for about three years now, and I generally run about 20 or 25 miles per week. I am in very good oevrall shape and have never had any issues...until now. A few weeks ago, I woke up with horrible knee pain in my right leg. I took a few full week off from running and got new shoes but the pain continues. Since then, the pain has traveled from my knee to my foot and back again. I've only run 2x since, and both times I ended up limping the next day. Every day the pain is a little different and in different locations, but it's not going away. I am so frustrated. First off, any ideas what it could be? Next, who should I see? I live in Montgomery County but work in DC. I thin it's time to admit I need some help. Thanks so much for your insight. |

when i had knee pain from running, a PT suggested i try inserts. immediately went away.
probably should see an orthopedist who will likely refer you to a PT. |
| Did you get theme from the PT or over-the-counter CVS? |
|
I would see a PT.
I would not go straight to inserts unless you've tried a lot of other things. The issue is probably that your IT or something else is too tight, or you may be weak elsewhere, or you're out of alignment. |
| orthopedist or podiatrist. You probably need orthotics. You may also need to replace your running shoes more frequently than you have been. |
I agree, I saw a podiatrist and got custom orthotics. Helped foot and knee pain. Where are you located, OP? |
