Dress Pants that don't require Dry Cleaning?

Anonymous
I have 4 pairs of slacks that I wear to work every week (navy, black, brown and tan). They are all lined and require dry cleaning. I don't have tons of money and can't afford to get new pants very often. I am so sick of paying money to have them dry cleaned all the time. Is there such a thing as nice work pants that don't require dry cleaning but are nice enough to wear to a law firm (and I'm not on an attorney salary, by the way!)? I prefer stores like Ann Taylor for business wear, but can only afford to buy things there occassionally and when they are on a big discount. I do have one pair of pants that can be washed at home, but they have pilled, so that's a waste. I want something that's going to come out of the wash nice and that I don't have to iron. Is there such a pair of pants? Or am I dreaming?

I LOVE my NY&Company pants for htat very reason. As long as you pull them out of the dryer while still warm, they dry wonderfully.

You can get AWESOME online cupons, if you sign up for their mailing list. I like them too b/c they come in short, average, and long. Just find your size in the store and order online, all of the sizes through out the various styles are very consistent. I can always order a size 10 long and it fits perfect-each time!

I just got some black pants at Coldwater Creek. Normally, I don't like a lot of their styles, but these are just plain black, wide-legged pants - the "Willow" pants. I bought them a tad big so I could dry them (they did shrink a bit in the dryer) and I don't have to iron them. I've washed them 3 times so far and they still look good.

I found a few pair from Ann Taylor, too. Best of luck, and I empathize completely!

OP here - Thanks for all of the suggestions! Keep them coming! To the 12:19 poster - I have a pair of Bennetton pants - they are the ones that pilled Also, the seam around the ankle came out after the first wash. (I wash them cold and line dry, by the way).

Eddie Bauer has some decent pants for women that do not need dry cleaning, and if you pull them out of the dryer still warm and smooth them out don't need ironng either.

Gap Outlet has some reasonably nice dress pants that can be washed and dried. I have some in black, gray, and khaki. They've held up great.

I have dress pants from Ann Taylor loft that can be washed and I just don't put them in the dryer. I have them in every color and have the khaki colored pair on today. I also work in a law firm and they look great. They have a little bit of stretch in them.

Yes! I swear by their dress pants. Unbelievably affordable and a bunch of different styles and fits.
