They can put window dressing any way they want, but this school produces boorish behavior. Case in point - KOA rec league games.
Have children that played Landon children in multiple sports this Fall. Football and baseball. Middle school children. In each case, there was incredible trash talking coming from Landon kids. They were yelling at opponents, referees, parents and opposing coaches. Their parents just stand there and do nothing to curb behavior. In addition, every call that went against them produced whining and complaining. No other teams acted like this. Little bits of cutting corners too. Flag guarding, unnecessary contact, playing after the whistle, sliding when unnecessary. And again, parents do not care. This stuff usually starts early. |
| Rec leagues we play in NoVA do not have umpires that will let kids yell at them ... Or yell mean things at the other team. The officials slam that down quickly. Maybe it's just a MD thing.... |

Another parent. Witnessed the same thing as OP. And they do this and lose. Parents actually do something. They encourage it. They are yelling too. Pathetic.
Im convinced Landon is about self-selection. Want boorish, Animal House son? Send him to Landon. |
| Sounds like someone lost the Koa League games . . . . |

Perhaps things have changed, but when I was at Landon (some time around the Stone Age), students were expected to call adults "sir" and "ma'am".
I find it hard to believe any Landon teachers or coaches would tolerate that kind of behavior from students. Like the PP, I also find it difficult to believe the officials in the Rec leagues would tolerate that kind of behavior for long. Parents, on the other hand, are another story. As a DC native I've seen behaviors from parents and tolerated by parents that was abhorrent. Some of them Landon parents, some not, but all sharing some degree of "affluenza." |
Sock Puppet. I will lock this thread now. I'd delete it, but I want other posters to see that the this post and the original post are from the same poster. |
