when you fly with toddlers, do you use headphones if you want him to watch a show or movie on the iPad? We have our longest flight yet coming up with our 19 month old, and are planning to bring some Sesame Street etc. on the ipad as one of the tools in our arsenal. Was wondering people bring headphones? |
Yes. I try not to bother other passengers. I also use a a headphone when watching a movie or such. |
Yep, we have toddler headphones - the volume doesn't go that high. |
Yes! As a PP said, you don't want to disturb others on your flight.
Some airlines sell headsets (JetBlue?) for a couple bucks right at the gate. When my kids were little, they preferred the bigger ones that went on the outside of the ear (like earmuffs). Now that they're older (youngest is 7), they're fine with earbuds. |
This is for a 20 month old so what kind of headphones can he use? Brand recommendations please |
Yes, headphones. Playing a movie or a game without headphones on the plane is obnoxious. |
We got big soft headphone at Five Below for our 3 and 4 yos before a flight. They seemed super comfy and they liked that they looked like the ones the ground control guys were wearing. Of course, they have large heads, so I don't know if you'd need specific toddler sized ones for yours. |
We bought these; I liked that there was a cord on only one side:

My 21mo won't wear headphones, but is fine watching shows with the volume off. Might be worth it to try that. |
Yes, headphones are a must. |

Heck yes headphones! Nobody wants to hear Elmo. |
What are you thinking is the alternative? That you would play the iPad with the sound on so everyone could hear it?? Wow that is really obnoxious. |
My dd is 15 months and has a small head. Has anyone had luck finding headphones that fit babies or getting babies to wear headphones.
Also I not sure which fellow passengers would hate more, her crying, my singing or some quite ipad noise. |
The first time I traveled alone after my son was born I was so excited for the relative peace and quiet and alone time that an airplane would afford. And then I sat in front of a toddler watching Mickey Mouse on an ipad without headphones. I felt like crying.
We got these and they worked. If you go to amazon and put toddler headphones in the search bar you will get plenty of options. http://www.amazon.com/Kidz-Gear-Wired-Headphones-Kids/dp/B00AXE9B6M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1387331752&sr=8-2&keywords=toddler+headphones |
