Looking to learn about the economy / investing - where to start

Have a basic grasp on economic principals due to parents requiring some macro & micro economics course, but feel like my overall knowledge is somewhat shaky. Am looking for recommendations for good books / blogs / etc as a place to start understanding it all better.
