Recommendations for a really great hairstylist?

I'm so tired of the same old, same old haircut. But . . . I don't want something too wild. I'm looking for stylish, but appropriate for 40+ mom. Location: NW DC, Bethesda, Chevy Chase. Would love any recommendations out there.

Jamie at Salon Cielo by Dupont. He does our whole family (me, DH, and 2 DCs.) I've been really happy and his cuts grow out real1y well. Mine from Sept.! is still looking good.

I have been happy with Soner at O Salon in Georgetown. He does my highlights and cut. I just went shorter and couldn't be happier. I am 40.

Remi at one80 Salon in NW. They are listed as a top salon in Allure just about every month it seems, so I gave them a try about 6 months ago and am hooked. I have Remi do my cuts, Jeremy does my color and Cyrille does my blowouts whenever I can get in there.

How much do you end up paying for all of this?

Mikel at Okyo in G'town. He is awesome. Has been cutting my hair for about 2.5 years. He did the "impossible" in that I wanted a minor style change and was specific about it and he got it totally right and remembered the next time I went. Too many stylists I know put you in the same cut time after time, don;'t really listen to you about what you want, and never remember what you said the time before. Mikel is NOT one of those stylists. Have recommended a few friends and everyone who tried him has stayed. He is known for baing one of the best/top colorists in DC but I think his cuts are his true hidden talent.

My God - it's like an assembly line!

Andrea at Ipsa in Georgetown. She can cut ANY texture hair and make it look fabulous. She charges $85 a cut.

I highly, highly, highly recommend Nicole L. with Salon Pave in Bethesda on Old Georgetown. She is FABULOUS (she fixed a terrible haircut for me), and I have sent 4 people there who have been equally as thrilled. AND she is only $60 a haircut!

I'm the one80 addict. It's not as much an assembly line as I get in there when I can, and my window of time is usually pretty short with two kids, so I've just kind of picked my favorite stylists for each.

get blowouts there if I have a night out (they run about $50, which is average here and Cyrille does an OUTSTANDING job). My color is $180, and my cuts are $90, but they have stylists there that are a lot cheaper (Remi is the owner).

I have been going to Ola at PR Partners on K street and I think she's really good. She'll spend forever with you before cutting to make sure she knows what you're looking for. I think her cuts are $65.

I goto a new salon in Bethesda Md on Norfolk Street called "Chaos" the phone # is 301-654-7979 make an appointment with Cao, he is fabulous and he is part owner, his brother is the other owner.
He is wonderful and knows what he is doing, he can cut curly, straight, color, high lights, etc......
My mom and all my friends have gone to him and they can't say nothing but wonderful things.
Just tell him that Deena referred you.
