| DH and I moved into a large SFH 3 years ago. We moved in with nearly no furniture (from a 1 bedroom apartment). It's taken 3 years to furnish 75% of the house, and we are pleased with how that is going. However, "completing" all the rooms seems like it's going to take years. Finding the right rug, wall art, lamps, knick-knacks, etc. to complete each room seems to take a ton of time and research. We have used the free in-store design services of major furniture stores when we have bought furniture, which was helpful for furniture placement and color schemes, but we have not used the services of a decorator. Just wondered if anyone else feels that completing all the rooms takes a ton of time/energy/research. |
| Our house was 9.8m and we put in and additional 3m in the last 18 months. Expect it to be done by Easter. |
| Took us 6 months but we had about 75% of the things from our old home moved in and purchased the other 25% |
| OP. if you are not using the rooms close the doors and don't stress over them. Do the rooms when you need them |

We will be at the 3 year mark in May, OP. LIke you I'd say we're about 75% of the way there.
One project at a time as we get money. |
| 60 percent there after moving in 5 years ago--but in the sense that we both had a lot of stuff from our own places that we merged and planned to get rid off/upgrade/etc. THen had two kids in 4 years. We're at 65 percent now, with very different criteria (expensive sofa? art? Ha. how about waterproof, stainproof and replaceable when kids destroy it). |

| It's never finished. 3 years in and we're redecorating some parts that were completed, some are still semi-completed. |
lol +1 |
+2 made me lol at work |
