I got a Mirena inserted shortly before Christmas, spotted for 2 1/2 weeks and then thought I was good to go, didn't have any other symptoms. Now, for the past three days, I've woken up completely nauseous. I know that I'm not pregnant (DH is overseas) but am wondering if this is a side effect or maybe I've caught a mild case of the stomach bug that's going around. Both of my girls are fine though and usually if something is going around, they'll catch it.
Did anyone else have this nausea issue? Esp. anyone else have it show up weeks after insertion? Thanks in advance! |
I have a paragard and do get "morning sickness" every once in a while. My theory is that it is due to having a foreign object in the uterus. Probably makes sense to just ask your doctor just to be sure. |
I have to tell you I was squeamish mentally about having something "in me" that had a wiry filament poking out. To the point I could make myself nauseous thinking about it lying in bed at night.
Just wondering if you might feel the same in a small way, and it's manifesting itself in random nausea? I did get over that feeling after about 3-4 weeks, and now I really forget it's there. But while spotting and cramping, it was all I could think about and it gave me the heebie-jeebies sometimes. |
i had that -- the first three months were an adjustment, actually - i had been on bcp for 17 years beforehand so i'm used to the adjustment issue and even so, mirena was unique.
But FWIW, once i got past those three months, i haven't had a single problem and two years later never even think about it. still, check w/ your doc if you're worried ... good luck. |
