Left ricotta out of fridge for two days

Should I assume it's spoiled?
Anonymous
yes

unless it was sitting in a (refrigerator temp) cold garage or car.

How do you not notice a tub of cheese rotting on the counter?

How do you not smell it?

Look at it
Smell it
Taste it

If it is bad - you will know. Cheese is pretty easy to tell when it is off.

Horrible advice. First of all, a lot of cheeses have a strong odor so no, it's not easy to tell when cheese is off. Second, never, ever, rely on your nose or taste to tell you when food is spoiled. If we could do that, no one would get food poisoning.
