My husband wants to buy me a puffer down vest to wear to the playground and other places. This one is fairly sleek-looking and seems like it would be useful. Do you recommend them? If I get one this year will it be completely passe by next year? Thanks for any advice you can offer. |
If you are over a size 8, I would say no. I am a little puffy myself, and then I put on a puffer (which I loved) and I looked like I was going to float away. Not pretty. |
Thanks so much for the candid response. I'm a size 4, and about 5' 5". Though I often feel puffy myself. . . . But you loved the vest aside from the floating away part? Thanks again. |
Oh totally. Go to shopittome.com. You get major brands on the cheap.
And you are small enough!! ![]() |
Thanks, OP. I may be small enough to wear a puffer, but I don't want to look like a buoy floating in the sea, either. ![]() Anyone else have an opinion on puffer vests? |
I'm not a fan - I grew up in New England and everyone wore them in elementary school (it was the 80's) so they just look really dated to me, trendiness aside. On the other hand, I regularly wear a black fleece vest I got at REI a couple years ago. Not sure it's any more "fashionable" but I like that it's sleeker and I have an hour glass figure when I wear it versus the Michelin man. |
I just saw a puffy vest at Ann Taylor yesterday, and it was very cute. |
I like them. My cute college-aged babysitters wear them.

I like them, you are small enough. Just wear something slim underneath some cute jeans and you are good to go! |
