Does attending their summer camp make it easier to get accepted at a private school the next year?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this topic?

We have friends who are convinced that their daughter's attendance at the NCRC summer camp was what clinched her acceptance the second time around. But on the other hand, I've heard that many camps rely largely on summer staff (i.e., not the regular teachers). In that case, I wouldn't think there would be that much opportunity for your child to make a good impression with someone who matters.

DC attends beauvoir and the camp is not run by regular staff so I think not. DC did not attend the camp before acceptance.

No connection.

I wonder why so many schools ask if prospective students have attended their camps?

They want to make you think that if you attend their camp you might have a better chance of being admitted.

I think they also want to know whether the camp served as good marketing tool for them.
