| We plan on staying in Sedona, and don't want to make the drive to the Grand Canyon ourselves. What options are there for tours or transportation from Sedona? We're not looking for some fancy tell-all tour with a guy on a microphone all the time, but more to take care of the transportation, getting around part. |
| We were in Sedona once; a family of 5. We hired some guy to drive us to and from the Canyon. He was I think part Native-American, and told us very cool stories about Indians, history, crops, hunting, etc. When we got to the Canyon, he let us do whatever we pleased. He drove his car, and I think we paid him, trying to remember, maybe $200 - that included park admission. |
Thanks. We're just a family of 3 - $200 still sounds like a pretty great deal. Do you remember his name? How did you find a driver? Trying to book things as soon as possible before everything in Spring Break fills up! |
| I honestly can't remember his name. I strongly recommend the Pink Jeep tour: do the Broken Arrow/Canyon view combo - it is really fantastic. We also did a trail ride thing, where a van picked us up in the middle of Sedona, and drove us about an 1 1/4 hrs away. This was on an actual working cattle ranch. We rode for about an hour, then a horse-drawn wagon took us and 2 other families to a mountain top, for a sunset grill. One of the cowboys played guitar and sang. It was awesome. I suggest just really googling for each - that is what I would do. |

Got it:
Pink Jeep Tours - Broken Arrow + Scenic Rim riding: M Diamond Ranch - awesome experience. Surf visit Sedona for private tours to the Canyon. Good luck. And map out your own hiking - fantastic trails just outside of town |
| Thank you so much pp!! DS is 4, and would love a cowboy playing guitar. Will definitely look into these. Thanks! |
| The M Diamond Ranch folks will put everyone on a real horse; 4 mite be too young - have him ride w you or Dad. Make him hike, and let him get dirty! |
