| I need 3 dozen cookies for a holiday cookie exchange this weekend. I'm not baking this year and clearly want something more impressive than grocery store pick-ups. Recommendations? |
| I've never been to a cookie exchange where someone didn't actually make their cookies. How do you exchange the recipe? |
| Praline Bakery |
| I've had great cookies from Stella's Bakery in Rockville. |
| Jenny cakes in Kensington. Choc chip are fantastic and 75 cents each |
Put a sticker on the baggie that says "Lovingly made by Giant/Safeway/Whole Foods Bakery because I am too damn busy to make 3 dozen cookies...Merry Christmas." |
But I said that I wasn't doing grocery store cookies... |
| World market sells Lacey cookies in milk and dark chocolate and I think there are at least a dozen in a bucket. They are more of a flat candy than a cookie but they are more unique and tastier than a grocery store cookie. |

Everyone's a critic!
"Lovingly purchased by me..." |

So she's too busy--big deal. Any resentment I might feel over being given store-bought cookies would melt right away if they were truly delicious. Many homemade cookies are not. (And personally I vastly prefer a good, honestly presented store-bought cookie over the semi-homemade variety.) |
| Hey OP. I hate to bake so I'll also be purchasing cookies rather than making them. |
+1 She's making an effort to get something truly high quality and perhaps something you wouldn't splurge on yourself (a bakery cookie? I can make those at home!). |
I don't disagree with you. I was responding to 20:14's question on how to exchange a recipe for a cookie you didn't make. |
OP, I was just going to include the directions to the bakery. Ha. |
